Michael S. Turner, M.Sc., MBA, FRICS, MAI, CRE, AACI
Mike has over 40 years experience as a real estate counsellor, broker and valuer and has practised his profession in the United Kingdom, Ontario and the four Atlantic Provinces.
A firm advocate of life long learning, he was awarded a Master of Science degree in real estate from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom in 1972, and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Saint Mary's University, Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1992.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the international body of the property profession. In 1989 he was invited by his peers to join the ranks of the prestigious American Society of Real Estate Counselors becoming part of a select group of less than fifty Canadians to hold that honour. Mike is a Real Estate Broker (Province of Nova Scotia), a designated member of the Appraisal Institute (of America), and an accredited member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
Mike is a past Chairman of the Canadian Chapter of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors, is a former Director of the Canadian Real Estate Association's Commercial Council, and is a past Chairman of the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. He is the author of numerous articles and technical papers on real estate counselling and valuation. Until 1988 he also taught real estate and real estate finance to students in the B.Comm. and MBA programs at Saint Mary's University.
