Nigel joined Turner Drake in 2002 after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University, Halifax. He was granted a Diploma in Urban Land Economics by the University of British Columbia in 2007 and graduated with their Bachelor of Business in Real Estate Degree in 2010. Nigel gained accreditation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2008. He was admitted into the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2014.
He has undertaken valuation assignments throughout Atlantic Canada on apartments, offices, industrial, retail, automotive, farms, etc. for property tax, insurance, financing, foreclosure, sale, purchase, capital gains tax and other purposes. Nigel has substantial experience valuing resource property. An acknowledged expert in this field, he has conducted seminars in Kingston, Ontario, and Banff, Alberta, for the Canada Trust Alliance, as well as a seminar on Conservation Easements for the Nova Scotia Real Estate Association.
Formerly Manager of our Lasercad® Division, Nigel also has extensive experience in our Property Tax Division.
Nigel was heavily involved in the expansion and integration of our CompuVal® family of intelligent databases. He joined us initially to implement the launch of our photographic database. Since then, in concert with our programmer, he has implemented and tested several new databases, including our Market Survey database which captures information on office and warehouse space. He undertook much of the fieldwork for the initial Market Survey whilst working in our Counselling Division.
