Manager - D. Alexandra Baird Allen, B.A.
Alex joined Turner Drake in 2006 directly upon graduation with an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Business from the Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS), Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (History and English) from the University of New Brunswick. Alex is currently enrolled in the University of British Columbia's Bachelor of Business in Real Estate Degree.
Since she commenced employment with Turner Drake, Alex has implemented GIS and data mining as an extension of the company's skills base. Alex has undertaken Site Selection Studies and Trade Area Analyses for a wide range of property types: office, industrial, residential, institutional and retail. She was responsible for enhancing our Supply and Demand Survey product, utilizing GIS to marry demographic, psychographic, income and expenditure data with our real estate databases. Alex leads the team that conducts semi-annual surveys of 33 million square feet of office and industrial rental space, located in the six major centres in Atlantic Canada. As part of this multi-year contract, Turner Drake quantifies supply and demand, rents and operating costs on 650 buildings, and provides five year projections to assist the Federal Government better manage their lease requirements.
