Lasercad Division

Vice President - Mark B. Turner, B.Comm., BBRE, AACI

Mark joined Turner Drake in 2000 after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary's University, Halifax. He was granted a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia in 2005, and graduated with their Bachelor of Business in Real Estate Degree in 2009. Mark gained accreditation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2006.

Mark has extensive experience in our Counselling Division conducting market surveys and providing consulting advice. His work in our Valuation Division covered a wide range of property from lighthouses to multi-use investment projects, throughout the Atlantic Provinces.

Mark also has experience in our Property Tax Division and has successfully conducted assessment appeals in Ontario and Atlantic Canada, and has appeared as an expert witness before the Nova Scotia Regional Assessment Appeal Court and the New Brunswick Assessment and Planning Appeal Board.

Mark is Vice President of our Lasercad™ Space Measurement Division; the only such facility in Atlantic Canada governed by a quality management system registered to ISO 9001:2008. Under his guidance the Lasercad™ Division has provided space measurement services throughout Atlantic Canada. These assignments have included apartment portfolios, office buildings, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, industrial premises, and aircraft hangars.

Manager - Daniel Slipp, B.Comm.

Dan joined Turner Drake in 2009 upon graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a major in finance, from Saint Mary's University, Halifax. He is currently enrolled in the University of British Columbia's Diploma in Urban Land Economics (DULE), and their Bachelor of Business in Real Estate degree (BBRE).  He has completed many of the required courses.

Dan has experience in our Economic Intelligence Unit gathering information on office and industrial space, for the Market Surveys we conduct on a semi-annual basis throughout the Atlantic Region.

He has been involved in analysing transactions of investment properties and portfolios, for our Valuation Division.  His valuation work has focused on major income producing properties such as shopping centres and office buildings, using discounted cash flow (DCF) methodology. Dan's experience in our Property Tax Division has involved property inspections throughout Atlantic Canada.

Dan has extensive experience in our Lasercad™ Division measuring office, industrial, retail and residential space to the appropriate BOMA, BOMA/SIOR, ULI, and CREA Standard, in buildings located throughout the Maritime Provinces.
